Staff governors:
Jane Grundy
I have been at Ironville and Codnor Park Primary School since I qualified as a teacher and I have worked as a partner headteacher and was appointed full-time headteacher in January 2017. I still feel that it is important for me to teach and understand the growing pressures upon my staff and pupils.
Our core values as a whole school are to provide the children with a first-class education and enable them to care about themselves, each other and the world in which they live. We celebrate that all children are unique and allow and encourage them to believe, achieve and ultimately to succeed.
I am extremely proud to be part of this school with a dedicated staff team, a supportive and challenging local governing board and wonderful children.

Alison Smedley
I was born and raised on the Nottinghamshire - Derbyshire border and completed my BA Hons degree in Early Childhood studies at The University of Derby. I then completed my teaching qualifications through the Nottingham City SCITT. In 2003 I began teaching at Whitemoor Academy before being seconded over to Ironville and Codnor Park Primary school as Deputy Headteacher in March 2017. I am currently Acting Headteacher and am responsible for Pupil Premium.
I am proud to be part of the school’s development, the successes we have made to support our pupils (past and present) and the continued clear plans we are working so hard towards. I strive to ensure that I lead by example, which underpins every role I undertake within school so that every child reaches their full potential.
Being on the Governing Body allows me to have a well-rounded understanding and further drive the strategic direction of the school, whilst ensuring this is fully embedded into the staff roles through our aims and policies.

Lisa Bowler

Since qualifying as a teacher in 1994, I have supported SEND children in secondary education in Nottinghamshire, taught for seven years in Wolverhampton and began teaching at Ironville and Codnor Park Primary School in 2002.
In 2003, I was seconded by Staffordshire University to write course materials for a Foundation Degree for Teaching Assistants and I have been a strong advocate for developing the skills and responsibilities of all members of staff. I gained my NPQH (National Professional Qualification for Headship) in 2004 and stepped up to headteacher partner in 2009-2010.
I am currently assistant headteacher with Assessment and English responsibilities and am on the local governing body. I am proud to be part of such a committed staff at Ironville and believe that a broad curriculum with enrichment activities will enthuse and enable all children to find their talents and achieve.
