Kirsty Edwards (Vice Chair of Local Governing Body)
Kirsty has been a parent governor since October 2016 and vice chair of governors since September 2019. She chose to become a governor after one and a half years of volunteering in the foundation unit at John Hunt. Kirsty felt like she had the time needed to take on the role as she really cares about children’s education. She has three daughters and they are all now pupils at John Hunt with her youngest starting in foundation in February.
Over the years Kirsty has gained the knowledge and experience needed to carry out her role. She is currently the link governor to the SENCO leaders, HA pupils lead and Maths lead. Kirsty has been linked to these areas for about three years and really enjoys this part of governance, although more difficult to fulfil during the pandemic. In a ‘normal’ academic year, Kirsty would meet with the leads of each area each term to discuss the data and once a year this would involve a learning walk around the school. In this last year, she has been in contact with the leads of her linked areas via email and she looks forward to the day she can once again meet them in school.
