Chief Executive Officer: Kate Watson

Kate is the interim CEO following the retirement of Judi O'Leary. Kate is currently the CEO of Aspire Multi Academy Trust and was previously a Trustee of the board.

Chief Finance Officer: Sarah Brown

Before joining SHINE Multi Academy Trust, Sarah was a School Business Manager in an inner-city primary school, which then converted to academy status. Prior to this, she worked for Nottingham City Council within the schools' finance team - helping many settings across the local authority with their financial accounting. She started her career at an independent accountants, then moved to Rushcliffe Borough Council, where she became a qualified member of the Association of Accounting Technicians (MAAT).

HR Director: Lauren Cartwright

Before joining SHINE Multi Academy Trust, Lauren worked for Whitemoor Academy within their school office team. Lauren helps deliver the HR function for the Trust - leading on staffing, recruitment and retention, payroll and change management. Lauren is also the Data Protection Officer for SHINE and organises the Trust-wide celebration events.

School Improvement Lead: Kate Hall

Kate completed her undergraduate degree in Chemistry and Administrative Science in 1990. This was followed by a PGCE (Primary).

During her career, she has been lucky enough to have worked in many different areas of the country - including Morayshire, Tower Hamlets, Lincolnshire and Nottingham City. Kate worked as a deputy headteacher at a City primary school before arriving at Scotholme - first as the deputy and then as the headteacher.

She completed the National Professional Qualification for Headship in 2004 and the National Professional Qualification for Executive Leadership in 2021.  

Scotholme successfully introduced an innovative mastery approach to Maths several years ago which has been rolled out across the Trust with equal success - as validated during recent Ofsted Inspections. 

Kate forms part of the Central Team as School Improvement Lead. She works closely with the CEO and Curriculum Director to coordinate school improvement work across the Trust and has particular responsibility for supporting schools, previously in an Ofsted category, leading up to their first Ofsted as part of SHINE.
